Welcome to the final Works Torque of 2006. In this issue, we focus on the work of our service department. In response to our customers’ needs, we are now servicing more cars than ever before, and our feature, on pages 8–9, looks at how we do it. This issue also tells of the recent restoration by our Heritage team of a unique Aston Martin classic — the first DB4 convertible. As you will see from our cover shot, the future is indeed bright for this historic car.
Aston Martin is the UK’s coolest brand – and that’s official. This latest confirmation of what all Aston Martin owners already knew came at this year’s CoolLive event, run by brand consultancy, Superbrands. Aston Martin beat the likes of fashion designer Alexander McQueen, the ubiquitous iPod, and the leading search engine brand, Google, to take the top slot in the CoolBrands awards. The ‘quintessentially English’ car brand was named coolest of the cool both by the CoolBrands Council, a panel of 21 influential style leaders, and by an online consumer vote.
